The Quinta de Sao Thiago in Sintra is a family-run guesthouse located in the Sintra Portugal Region. Nested amongst the trees in the rolling hillsides at the foothills of the Sintra mountain range, the Quinta de Sao Thiago in Sintra provides guests with a real home from home – the perfect base for exploring all that the Sintra Portugal Region has to offer before returning ‘home’ at the end of the day to a warm welcome, a comfortable room and some good conversation and company from fellow guests.
The hotel offers nine rooms set out over two floors, each of which has its own unique character and décor. All rooms have a private bathroom featuring delightful hand-painted tiles that are typical of the Sintra Portugal region, other than the interconnecting family suite which shares a good-sized bathroom between family or group members. The rooms are generously sized and most are able to accommodate an extra bed by prior arrangement, making the Quinta de Sao Thiago in Sintra a good choice for families and small groups.
The guest house is set within large grounds, offering plenty of landscaped greenery and shelter from the sun by the many pine and eucalyptus trees. The house presides over a large pool area, which is comfortably furnished with sun loungers and sun shades for the exclusive use of the hotel’s guests.
Active guests will enjoy doing a few leisurely laps of the pool to set themselves up for the day, or fitting in a quick game of tennis on the private tennis court. For the more sedate, the well-stocked library is full of books in a variety of languages, perfect for enjoying by the poolside, and there is even a piano for some light musical relief.
The hotel itself does not serve dinner, however it does offer a tasty buffet breakfast to set you up for a good day’s sightseeing and offers a range of snacks and drinks throughout the day on an ad hoc basis.
If you are looking for a real home-from-home hideaway the Quinta de Sao Thiago in Sintra is the perfect solution.
